Cyclist arrested at Marden

A man has been arrested after being stopped on a push bike overnight.

About 1.00am on Wednesday 24 June, patrols spotted a cyclist in a shopping centre car park riding without lights and wearing a face covering.

The cyclist was directed to stop however travelled north along Lower Portrush Road in an attempt to evade police.

The 22-year-old man from Campbelltown was stopped on Grigg Street and arrested.

During a search, police located an extendable baton and a small quantity of drugs and saw the bicycle serial number had been obscured.

He was charged with riding a bicycle at night without lights, possession of a prohibited weapon, carrying an article of disguise and theft of the bicycle he was riding.

He was granted bail to attend the Adelaide Magistrates Court at a later date.
