High-range drink driver at Seacliff

A man has been reported after being stopped by police last night.

About 10pm on Tuesday 23 June, patrols attended The Esplanade at Seacliff following reports of a man driving erratically near a hotel.

The Renault van was located and stopped a short distance away on The Esplanade.

The driver, a 47-year-old man from Morphett Vale was submitted to a driver test and provided a blood alcohol result of 0.280 – over five times the limit.

He was issued with a 12-month immediate loss of licence notice and his car was impounded for 28 days.

He will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.
