Update - Fatal crash Hindmarsh Valley

A man has died following a crash at Hindmarsh Valley this morning.

Just after 11am on Saturday 30 May, police and paramedics were called to the intersection of Victor Harbor Road and Hindmarsh Tiers Road after reports of a collision between a Ford SUV and a garbage truck.

Sadly, the driver of the Ford, a 93-year-old man from Myponga died at the scene.

The driver of the truck a 51-year-old man from Hindmarsh Island was uninjured.

Victor Harbor Road remains closed while Major Crash Investigators examine the circumstances of the crash.

The man's death is the 47th life lost on SA Roads this year.
