Driver reported over donuts in Port Augusta park

A Port Augusta teenager had his car impounded after allegedly doing donuts at a local park overnight.

Police were called to Rotary Park, on Mitchell Terrace, Port Augusta West about 8.30pm on Friday 3 July by reports of cars driving in the park and breaking up the grassed surface.

Patrols located two vehicles and two drivers in the park and found extensive damage and tyre tracks across the grass area.

A 17-year-old Port Augusta boy was reported for misuse of a motor vehicle, after allegedly doing donuts in the area.  His ute was impounded for 28 days, and he will be summonsed to appear in the Port Augusta Youth Court at a later date.

An 18-year-old Port Augusta man, who was not believed to have damaged the park surface, was issued with an expiation notice for minor traffic offences
