Crash at Christies Beach

About 10.30pm on Thursday 23 July, police were called to Beach Road after a Mazda sedan collided with a signpost in the media strip.

When officers arrived, they observed the driver to be under the influence of alcohol.

The probationary licence holder was submitted to an initial roadside breath test and returned a positive result.

There was significant damage to the front of the car but luckily the driver only sustained minor injuries.

The 24-year-old man from Hackham West was taken to hospital for an assessment and where a blood sample will be taken for further drug and alcohol testing.
