Driver fined for using arrester bed

A driver has been fined after he stopped in an arrester bed on Freeway this evening.

Highway Patrols were called to the South Eastern Freeway, Crafers West just after 7pm, Saturday 30 May after reports a Toyota SUV had driven in to the arrester bed.

The driver, a 58-year-old man from Walkley Heights told officers that he was checking his doors were closed.

His vehicle was towed from the bed and he was issued with an expiation notice for $450.

Police remind motorist that the safety ramps are not to be used unless in an emergency.
