A man has been arrested for drug and traffic offences in the Southern District.
On Thursday 1 October, police were called to a carpark on Main South Road, Morphett Vale to reports of a man attempting to steal a motorcycle.
Patrols attended and on spotting police the suspect attempted to flee the scene in an awaiting motor vehicle.
He was arrested and on searching his address, police will allege that $1650 cash, 7 grams of methamphetamine, numerous illicit drugs, a stolen motorcycle, a set of registration plates, two e-bikes and a double-edged push knife were located.
The 29-year-old man from Aldinga has been charged with traffic in a large commercial quantity of controlled drug, four counts of traffic-controlled drug, two counts of possess prescription drug, possession of prohibited weapon, one count of money laundering, two counts of drive unlicenced, two counts of drive unregistered and uninsured and one count of unprescribed number plates.
He was refused police bail and appeared before the Christies Beach Magistrates Court today (Friday 2 October).
Police also seized a Honda Motorcycle and a Kia Station Wagon in connection with the offending under the Criminal Assets Confiscations Act 2005.
