Serious assault in Mawson Lakes

About 11pm on Saturday 30 May, police and paramedics were called to University Boulevard after reports of a disturbance between a group of males.

During the altercation, an 18-year-old man sustained a stab wound to his back and a second 18-year-old man was assaulted with a baseball bat.

Both men were taken to hospital for treatment, and their injuries are not considered life threatening at this time.

Northern District Detectives and Crime Scene Investigators attended the scene.

It is early in the investigation however police do not believe this was a random incident.
