Police investigate death of a man in Adelaide

Police have appealed for information from the public in connection with an incident that resulted in the death of a man, 23, during his arrest in Adelaide late on Thursday 23 July.
Major Crime Investigation Branch detectives conducting an investigation for the Coroner believe the deceased man was fighting with another man in the carpark of the Elephant and Castle Hotel on West Terrace just after 4pm. The fight was at the Gilbert Street entrance to the hotel carpark.
Detectives have appealed for anyone who may have witnessed this activity to contact police.
Police also believe the deceased man may have interacted with vehicles travelling on West Terrace about 4pm as he crossed from the western side of West Terrace to the eastern side, adjacent the hotel.
Anyone who may have witnessed an altercation between two men in the hotel carpark or who may have dashcam vision of an Aboriginal man wearing dark clothing crossing West Terrace in traffic late Thursday is urged to contact Crimestoppers on 1800 333 000.
