Car stolen during break-in at Salisbury North

Police were called to Port Wakefield Road, Dry Creek about 3.15am on Wednesday 9 September by a report of suspicious behaviour.  A group of people were loading property from one car to another.

Patrols attended and located a grey Holden Commodore sedan, containing property.

Following inquiries, police attended the registered owner's address in International Avenue, Salisbury North, where they found the car owner with facial injuries sustained during a break-in and assault earlier in the night.

Four men armed with weapons reportedly entered his home and assaulted the victim before stealing his car, phone and other property.

The 28-year-old man will be taken to hospital by ambulance for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

The stolen car was towed away for forensic examination.

Crime scene investigators will attend the scene later this morning.

Although the investigation is in its early stages, police do not believe this to be a random incident.

Police are seeking any further witnesses who may have seen the second vehicle parked on Port Wakefield Road, Dry Creek or has any dashcam or CCTV footage that may assist the investigation.
