Port Pirie weekend traffic report

About 3.45pm on Friday 11 September, police reported a 43-year-old man from Risdon Park after he was stopped on Collingwood Street. He was reported for driving while unlicenced and driving an unregistered and uninsured motor vehicle. His vehicle was impounded for 28 days.

Just before 1.30am on Saturday 12 September, police stopped a car on Senate Road for a breath test. He allegedly produced a blood alcohol reading of 0.129. A 30-year-old man from Risdon Park was reported for drink driving and issued with a six-month instant loss of licence.

About 5.45pm on Saturday, police stopped a P2 driver on Anzac Road and submitted him to a breath test. He allegedly produced a blood alcohol reading of 0.02. A 21-year-old man from Solomontown was issued with an expiation notice for breaching his licence conditions.

A 29-year-old man from Port Pirie South was stopped on Senate Road about 8.50pm on Saturday and submitted him to a drug test. He allegedly returned a positive result to methamphetamine. He was issued with a three-month instant loss of licence and may face drug driving charges pending results of a forensic analysis.

A 30-year-old man from Risdon Park was issued a fine after he was caught speeding at Warnertown. The man was stopped on the Augusta Highway about 9.45pm on Sunday 13 September after he was detected travelling at 139km/h in a 110km/h speed zone. The P2 licence holder was issued an expiation notice for speeding and breaching his licence conditions.

Only a few minutes later, police stopped a man on The Terrace after checks revealed he was disqualified from driving. A 29-year-old man from Risdon Park was reported for the offence and his vehicle was impounded for 28 days. He will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.
