Man arrested after car thefts in Yorke Peninsula

A man has been arrested after stolen cars were found on his property at Boors Plain.

It will be alleged that about 1am on Wednesday 14 May, police attempted to stop a white Ford utility on the Copper Coast Highway, Paskeville. The driver failed to stop and drove in a dangerous manner to avoid being stopped by police.

About 7.30am on the same day, Kadina Police attended the man’s home address and arrested him without incident. The ute he was driving at the time was located on the property and impounded for 28 days.

Police also located three motor vehicles which had been reported stolen in the previous few days.

The 40-year-old man was charged with fail to stop, driving disqualified, drive without due care, three counts of illegal use of a motor vehicle and unlawful possession. He was refused bail and was later remanded in custody.
