Man charged with child exploitation offences

On Wednesday 22 July 2026, investigators from SA JACET, a joint task force between SAPOLs Public Protection Branch and the Australian Federal Police (AFP), attended a residence in the northern suburbs as a result of an investigation into online child exploitation material (CEM).

SA JACET were assisted at the premises by the SAPOL Digital Evidence Section.

A review of electronic devices identified the occupant had been producing AI generated child exploitation material at that address.

As a result, a 26 year-old northern suburbs man was arrested and charged with possessing child exploitation material CEM and production of child exploitation material.

He was granted bail to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court at a later date.

Further electronic devices have been seized for analysis.

“This arrest follows an investigation by dedicated specialist Detectives who are committed to protecting children from those who seek to exploit and abuse children online. The production, possession and distribution of AI-generated child abuse material is a heinous offence and our specialist Detectives, with the assistance of SAPOL's Digital Evidence Section, have the tools and expertise to peruse, investigate and prosecute anyone attempting to produce AI Generated child exploitation material within South Australia.” said Detective Superintendent Damien Epps, Officer in Charge of the Public Protection Branch.
