Drug searches result in three arrests

Eastern District police have arrested three men following a number of drug searches across the metro area yesterday.

The coordinated searches were conducted across nine homes and focused on the cultivation and trafficking of cannabis.

A significant seizure was uncovered at a Semaphore Park home where police located approximately 80 kilograms of packaged and loose dried cannabis along with other equipment and items associated with packaging.

As a result of this search, a 57-year-old Morphett Vale man was arrested and charged with a number of drug offences including several counts of cultivating cannabis plants, trafficking in a large commercial quantity of a controlled drug, possessing prescribed equipment and diverting electricity. He was refused bail and will appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court today. CO2400015530

At a mid north home, police located 18 cannabis plants and 20 clones. A 52-year-old man from the home was arrested and charged with cultivating a commercial quantity of a controlled plant, possessing prescribed equipment and diverting electricity. He was bailed to appear in the Tanunda Magistrates Court on 18 June.

A man was also arrested after police located 12 cannabis plants at a Joslin home. A 51-year-old Salisbury East man was present at the home and was arrested for cultivating cannabis plants, possessing prescribed equipment and diverting electricity. He was bailed to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on 29 July.

Investigations are continuing.
