Drink driver arrested at Bolivar

28 Apr 2024 6:16am

A drink driver lost his licence for 12 months after failing to stop for police at Wingfield last night.

Police attempted to pull over the white Ford sedan as it travelled northbound on the Port River Expressway, Wingfield just after 11pm on Saturday 27 April.

The driver did not stop but continued along the expressway before taking the Bolivar Road exit.

Police were able to box in and safely bring the vehicle to a stop at the intersection of the Bolivar Road exit and Port Wakefield Road, Bolivar.

It will be alleged the driver appeared intoxicated and the 31-year-old Encounter Bay man recorded a blood alcohol reading of 0.154.  He was issued with a 12-month immediate loss of licence and his vehicle was impounded for 28 days.

Police checks also revealed that he was already disqualified from driving.  He was arrested and charged with drink driving, fail to stop for police and driving disqualified and bailed to appear in the Port Adelaide Magistrates Court on 27 May.
