Arsonist arrest at West Croydon

Just after 2pm on Wednesday 8 July, police and fire crews were called to Torrens Road, West Croydon, after reports that a Toyota sedan was on fire.

MFS crews extinguished the blaze which caused extensive damage to the vehicle and to the windows of a nearby church.

Police located a suspect nearby who was subsequently arrested.

Crime Scene Investigators attended the scene to examine the premises and gather evidence.

A 42-year-old Croydon Park man was charged with arson and property damage. Police refused bail and the man will appear at Port Adelaide Magistrates Court on Thursday 9 July.
