Speeding rider loses licence

A motorcycle rider has lost is licence for six months after he was caught speeding at Christies Beach this morning.

At 11.50am on Friday 3 July, a static speed detection camera was operating on Gulfview Road when it detected a motorcycle travelling at 95km/h in a 50km/h speed zone.

A traffic patrol followed up with the registered owner at his O'Sullivan Beach home and spoke with the alleged rider.

A 68-year-old man was subsequently issued with a six-month instant loss of licence and an expiation notice totalling $2,126 along with 9 demerit points.
