Drink driver blows over five times the legal limit in Whyalla

Just before 0am, Friday 3 July, police allegedly saw a Holden sedan fail to give way at a pedestrian crossing on Mcdougall Stuart Avenue at Whyalla Norrie.

Patrols stopped the driver and submitted the 40-year-old man to a breath test which allegedly returned a positive result of 0.261, over five times the legal limit.

Further checks on the driver revealed he was driving without a licence and the vehicle was also unregistered.

He was reported for drink driving, driving without a licence and an unregistered vehicle. He was issued a 12-month loss of licence, his vehicle defected and impounded for 28-days.
