Speeding L-plater stopped near Pimba

On Monday, police detected a speeding learner driver in the State's Far North.

Woomera Police were conducting speed detection about 10.20am on Monday 5 October as part of Operation Safe Long Weekend, when they detected a vehicle travelling at 139 km/h in a 110 km/h zone.

Police checks revealed the driver, a 22-year-old woman from Davoren Park, only held a learner's permit.

She was issued with an expiation notice for exceed speed and two counts of breaching the conditions of her learner's permit by not having a supervising driver and exceeding the speed limit by more than 10 km/h.

She was issued a fine totalling $2223 and five demerit points.

Her vehicle was defected.
