Speeding driver tests positive to drugs at Blakeview

18 Aug 2026 3:19pm

A man will face court after being stopped by police in Adelaide's northern suburbs on Monday night.

About 8.15pm on Monday 17 August, police were conducting static speed detection duties on Main North Road at Blakeview when they detected an Audi sedan travelling at 117 km/h in a signed 90 km/h zone.

Police stopped the vehicle where checks allegedly revealed the driver, a 21-year-old Blakeview man, was driving while disqualified.

He underwent a roadside drug test, which returned a positive result for cocaine and cannabis (THC).

The man was reported for speeding, driving while disqualified and drug driving. He will be summonsed to appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court at a later date.

His Audi sedan was impounded for 28 days.
