A driver will face court after he was caught speeding in Adelaide's north-eastern suburbs last night.

At about 9.20pm on Friday 3 July, Holden Hill patrols detected a Hyundai van travelling at 106 km/h in a 60 km/h zone on Lower North East Road, Highbury.

Police stopped the vehicle and the driver underwent a breath test, returning a positive result of 0.064.

The 62-year-old Unley man was reported for driving at an excessive speed and issued with a $1,012 fine for drink driving.

He was issued with an immediate six-month loss of licence and his vehicle was impounded for 28 days.
