A drink driver crashed into a light pole at Hindmarsh overnight.
Police were called to the intersection of Port Road and Drayton Street, Hindmarsh just before 2.30am on Saturday 4 July by reports that a car had collided with a light pole and was trying to leave the scene.
When patrols arrived, they found a light pole had been knocked down. They searched the area and allegedly located the vehicle in nearby Gibson Street.
The driver, a 23-year-old man, recorded a blood alcohol reading of 0.081.
He was not injured in the crash.
He was arrested and charged with drink driving, property damage, leaving the scene of a crash and aggravated driving without due care. He was refused police bail and will appear in the Port Adelaide Magistrates Court on Monday.
He was issued with a six-month instant loss of licence.
His Saab was towed away due to collision damage.
