Seven vehicle crash at Evanston South

About 3.30pm on Tuesday 8 September, police and emergency services were called to a seven-vehicle crash on Main North Road after a semi-trailer rear ended a Toyota sedan triggering a chain reaction involving five other vehicles.

Three people were treated at the scene by SA Ambulance for non-life-threatening injuries.

Heavy Vehicle Enforcement Unit were in attendance.

The driver of the truck a 44-year-old man from Willaston tested positive to methamphetamine.

Officers searched the truck where it will be alleged a small quantity of methamphetamine and drug equipment were located.

The driver was reported for aggravated drive manner dangerous pending result of a forensic analysis and issued a drug diversion notice.

The truck was defected and towed from the scene.

Traffic restrictions were in place for several hours on Main North Road but have since reopened.
