Fatal crash at Brinkley

A man has died after a crash near Murray Bridge.

About 5.10pm on Wednesday 22 May, emergency services were called to Pfeiffer Road at Brinkley, after reports a Ford ute travelling east and a Holden Commodore travelling west collided.

Sadly, the driver of the Holden, a 19-year-old Mannum man died at the scene.

The driver of the Ford, a 46-year-old local man was airlifted to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Pfeiffer Road was closed for several hours while Major Crash Investigators attended the scene, but has since reopened to all traffic.

The young man's death is the 37th life lost on South Australian roads this year.
