Provisional driver caught speeding at Mount Barker

A driver has been arrested and charged with traffic offences after he was stopped speeding yesterday on the South Eastern Freeway.

Just after 10.30am Sunday 20 September highway patrols stopped a Ford Sedan travelling at 145km/h in a 100 km/h speed zone on the South Eastern Freeway at Mount Barker.

Checks revealed the driver, a 20-year-old man from Rosewater was the holder of a provisional licence.

He was arrested and charged with aggravated excessive speed and breaching his provisional conditions.

The vehicle was impounded; he was issued an instant loss of licence for 6 months and will appear in court at a later date.
