Murray Mallee traffic report

Murray Mallee Police detected five drivers committing traffic offences over the weekend.

About 8.12pm on Thursday 25 April, Heavy Vehicle Enforcement Section stopped a Suzuki Swift on Sturt Highway, Mundic Creek, travelling at 133km/h in a 110km/h zone. The driver, a 49-year-old Pike River man, was breath tested and returned a positive result of 0.147. He was reported for exceeding the speed limit and drink driving. He was issued a six-month instant loss of licence and his vehicle impounded for 28 days. He will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.

About 11.45am on Thursday 25 April, Heavy Vehicle Enforcement Section stopped a Prime Mover on Sturt Highway at Yamba.  The driver, a 26-year-old man from Black Forest, was reported for a false entry in his work diary.  He will appear in court at a later date.

About 11.50am on Friday 26 April, Heavy Vehicle Enforcement Section stopped a Mercedes Benz Prime Mover on Sturt Highway Monash.  The driver, a 24-year-old man from New South Wales was reported for a false entry in his work diary.  He will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.

Just after 5.30pm on Friday 26 April, police stopped a Mercedes Benz on Sturt Highway, Good Hope Landing, travelling at 124km/h in a 110km/h zone.  Checks revealed that the driver, a 49-year-old Paralowie Man, was driving whilst being disqualified.  The man was drug tested and allegedly returned a positive result.  He was issued an indefinite driver direction notice.  He will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.

About 7.30pm on Saturday 27 April, Meningie Police stopped a Ford Falcon sedan on Falkner Street at Meningie. The driver, a 56-year-old Meningie man, was breath tested and returned a positive result of 0.143. He was reported drink driving and issued an instant loss of licence issued for six months. He will appear in court at a later date.
