MMLSA weekend traffic

Three people were caught committing traffic offences over the weekend.

About 3pm Friday 3 May Murray Mallee Highway Patrols stopped a Ford sedan driving on the Sturt Highway at Paringa. Checks revealed the driver, a 52-year-old Craigmore man, had a suspended drivers licence. He was reported for driving suspended and his car was impounded for 28 days. He will be summoned to appear in court at a later date.

About 10.30pm Friday 3 May Berri Police stopped a Mazda sedan travelling on the Old Sturt Highway, Berri.  Checks revealed the driver, a 71-year-old North Adelaide woman, had a suspended drivers licence. She was reported for driving suspended and her car was impounded for 28 days. She will be summoned to appear in court at a later date.

About 12.10pm Saturday 4 May Murray Mallee Highway Patrols stopped a Holden Commodore driving on Ridley Road at Cambrai. The driver, an 18-year-old Waikerie woman was drug tested, allegedly returning a positive reading for driving with methamphetamine in her system. She received a three month instant loss of licence and her sample will be sent to FSSA for further analysis.

About 7.30pm Saturday 4 May Berri Police stopped a Holden sedan travelling on Renmark Avenue at Renmark after they spotted it driving without headlights. The driver, a 27-year-old local man, was breath tested, allegedly returning a positive reading of 0.091. He was reported for drink driving and lost his licence on the spot for six months. His car was impounded for 28 days and he will be summoned to appear in Berri Magistrates Court at a later date.
