Five drink drivers detected on Lower Eyre Peninsula

Just before midnight on Saturday 22 August, police stopped a Holden ute on Napoleon Street, Port Lincoln. The 37-year-old driver returned a breath test reading of 0.114. He was reported for drink driving, issued with an immediate six-month loss of licence and his car was impounded for 28 days. He will be summonsed to appear in the Port Lincoln Magistrates Court at a later date.

Just after 1.30am on Sunday 23 August, police stopped a Nissan station wagon on Liverpool Street, Port Lincoln. The 23-year-old driver returned a breath test reading of 0.075 and was issued with an expiation notice.

At 11.50pm on Friday 21 August, police stopped a Ford ute on Stevenson Street, Port Lincoln. The 45-year-old driver returned a breath test reading of 0.058 and was issued with an expiation notice.

Shortly after midnight on Sunday 23 August, police stopped a Toyota station wagon on Sleaford Terrace, Port Lincoln. The 69-year-old driver returned a breath test reading of 0.064 and was issued with an expiation notice.

Just before 2am on Sunday 23 August, police attended a single-vehicle crash on Murray Drive, North Shields. Officers located the driver and passenger hiding in nearby scrubland a short distance from the vehicle.

The 17-year-old P1 driver returned a breath test reading of 0.055. He was issued with expiation notices for drink driving, breaching P1 licence conditions and driving without proper control of a vehicle.
