At 11.30am on Friday 10 July, Major Crash Investigation Section were conducting unrelated enquiries at Grenfell Street, Adelaide when they saw the driver of a Toyota sedan using a mobile phone when driving. Police further observed two small children seated in the front passenger seat sharing the one seatbelt.
The driver was stopped, and the 40-year-old Payneham woman was issued with an expiation notice for using a mobile phone when driving and for failing to ensure all passengers were properly secured with seatbelts. The fine totalled $1,355 and five demerit points.
