A driver has been arrested after attempting to run from police after a burnout in the CBD.
Just before 4.15am on Monday 24 August, Eastern District patrols were on Morphett Street, removing an ironing board that was causing a road hazard.
The driver of a white Toyota hatchback drove past and allegedly performed a burnout in front of officers.
Patrols directed the driver to stop however he refused and drove off at speed on Morphett Street.
The vehicle was tracked to Currie Street and onto Solomon Street where the driver allegedly ran from police and was arrested on Currie Street.
A 23-year-old Hectorville man was charged with two counts of misuse of a motor vehicle, two counts of hindering police, driving under the influence, drug possession and numerous traffic offences.
His vehicle was impounded for 28 days and he was granted police bail to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on 12 November.
