A woman has been arrested after returning a reading more than four times the legal limit at Elizabeth early this morning.
Just before 4am on Friday 16 October, Northern District patrols were travelling on Main North Road, Elizabeth, when they observed a Toyota 4WD swerving over the road.
Patrols stopped the vehicle a short distance away and submitted the driver to a breath test. The woman allegedly returned a positive reading of0.206, more than four times the legal limit.
Further checks revealed the registration plates fitted to the Toyota were not assigned to the vehicle and the driver was also unlicenced.
The 48-year-old interstate woman was arrested and charged with drink driving, driving without a licence and driving with unassigned plates.
The Toyota was impounded, and the woman was refused police bail. She is expected to appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court today.
