Car into verandah at Mitcham

Emergency services were called to Welbourne Street, Mitcham about 6.30pm on Wednesday 5 August after a car crashed into the verandah of a home.

The driver, a 74-year-old Malvern woman, was attempting to do a u-turn when she lost control of her Volkswagen and ploughed through the fence and into the verandah.

Fortunately, there were no injuries reported.

She was issued with an expiation notice for driving without proper control of the vehicle.

Her vehicle was towed from the scene.
