Youth arrested after Plympton bottle shop theft

One youth was arrested and two remain outstanding after a bottle shop theft at Plympton last night.

Police were called to the Anzac Highway, Plympton bottle shop just before 10.30pm on Thursday 22 May after reports of a theft.

Three youths had entered the store with their hoods up and allegedly grabbed bottles of alcohol and tried to run off without paying.  One of the youths was detained by a staff member, who was hit with a bottle.

Thankfully, the staff member was not seriously injured.

Police Dog Cooper and handler were first on scene and arrested the youth.

The 16-year-old boy from Parafield Gardens was charged with aggravated theft and assault and bailed to appear in the Adelaide Youth Court on 4 July.

Enquiries are continuing to identify and locate his two friends.
