Drunk hoon driver loses licence at Nuriootpa

A hoon driver lost his licence on the spot after being caught drink driving and doing burnouts at Nuriootpa last night.

Police detected the Holden sedan doing burnouts on Kalimna Road, Nuriootpa about 10.20pm on Thursday 22 May.

The driver, a 28-year-old Nuriootpa man, recorded a blood alcohol reading of 0.229.

He was reported for drink driving, misuse of a motor vehicle and driving in a manner dangerous to the public.  He was issued with a 12-month instant loss of licence and his vehicle was impounded for 28 days.

He will be summonsed to appear in the Tanunda Magistrates Court at a later date.
