Update: Man arrested after trading cards stolen in toy store smash and grab

About 8.30pm on Thursday 24 September, a man wearing a balaclava and armed with a hammer entered a toy store at a shopping centre on Beach Road, Noarlunga Centre.  The man smashed a glass cabinet and stole a quantity of Pokémon cards before running off through the northern car park.

Thankfully no one was injured.

Southern District patrols responded and searched the area but were not able to locate the suspect.

Following an investigation, police attended an address at Roy Terrace, Christies Beach and arrested a 29-year-old man.

He has been charged with breaching a bail agreement, carrying an offensive weapon, property damage, theft and carrying an article of disguise.

His bail has been refused and he will attend the Christies Beach Magistrates Court
