Four arrested after break-in and theft at Moana bottle shop

Four youths have been arrested following an aggravated serious criminal trespass and theft at a business premises overnight.

Just after 3am on Friday 31 July, police were called to a Moana bottle shop after the owners received alerts from their CCTV system. Vision showed four people force entry into the shop, smash their way through the front doors and steal bottles of alcohol before leaving the area.

Responding patrols reviewed CCTV footage and identified the offenders as two boys and two girls.

About 3.45am, officers located four youths at a Seaford Rise address, where they were found in possession of backpacks containing stolen alcohol. Two suspects were arrested at the scene, while two others fled on foot before being located a short time later by police and Police Dog Operations Unit officers nearby.

A 13-year-old boy from Seaford Rise, a 13-year-old girl from Morphett Vale, a 15-year-old boy from Aldinga Beach and a 16-year-old boy from Noarlunga Downs were arrested and charged with serious criminal trespass and theft.

The 13-year-old boy and 13-year-old girl were bailed to appear in the Youth Court at a later date. The 15-year-old boy and 16-year-old boy were refused police bail and will appear before the Youth Court today.

The stolen alcohol was recovered and returned to the owners.

Investigations are continuing.
