Northern District police have arrested a man at Salisbury Downs.

About 7.25am on Friday 31 July, police were called to Thompson Avenue to reports of a man armed with a knife.

Police received numerous calls from the public and swiftly responded.

The man was arrested and there is no further threat to the community.
