Break-in at Hawthorn restaurant

About 4.15am today (Monday 28 September), police were called to a restaurant in Belair Road after an alarm activation.

A male suspect was seen on CCTV footage breaking into the southern side of the premises a few minutes earlier.

He then stole cash from inside and then fled in a white ute, driven by a second person. The ute turned left and headed north on Belair Road. The ute had a red canopy on the back of the vehicle.

The suspect was wearing a light-coloured cap, dark-coloured jacket, black jeans and black Nike shoes.
