Fatal crash Virginia

A man has died following a crash at Virginia last night.

About 8.45pm on Sunday 4 October, police and emergency services were called to the intersection of Penfield Road and King Road following reports of a collision between a Ford SUV and Ford sedan.

The driver of the Ford sedan, a 53-year-old man from Angle Vale sadly died at the scene.

The occupants of the Ford SUV, a 38-year-old female driver, a 35-year-old female and four children were taken to hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

Major Crash Investigators attended the scene and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision.

Penfield Road was closed for all traffic however the road has since re-opened.

The man's death is the 85th life lost on South Australian roads this year.
