Man arrested for breaching reporting obligations

On Friday 26 April, Detectives from the Public Protection Branch arrested a 33-year-old man from the northern suburbs for one count of make child amenable to sexual activity and two counts of breaching his reporting obligations.

He appeared in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court on 29 April and was refused bail. He will appear again on 27 May.

This arrest came as a result of a referral from Victoria Police, Joint Anti Child Exploitation Team (JACET).

Detective Chief Inspector Naomi Oberscheidt from the Public Protection Branch states, "Police urge anyone in the community who needs to access support in relation to child abuse or exploitation to visit the ACCCE website - www.accce.gov.au - for a full list of available support services with contact details."

"Members of the public who have information about people involved in child abuse and exploitation are urged to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or www.accce.gov.au/report . If you know abuse is happening right now or a child is at risk, call police immediately on Triple Zero."
