07 Jun 2026 10:23am

Police have arrested a man following a deliberate fire at a public toilet block in Salisbury this morning.

Just after 7am on Sunday 7 June, police were called to a toilet block on Park Terrace after reports of a fire.

On arrival, police entered and found a small pile of burning paper, which was extinguished.

The fire caused minor smoke damage only to the cubicle.

Police searched the area and identified a suspect, who was tracked to a nearby train and arrested.

The 52-year-old man from Gawler West was charged with arson, carry an offensive weapon, providing false details to police and breach of bail.

He was refused police bail and is expected to appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
