13 Aug 2026 10:00pm

A man has been arrested after stealing fuel and threatening staff at a service station this evening.

Just after 6pm on Thursday 13 August, police were called to a service station after reports a man who had filled a jerry can with fuel and left without paying the previous day had returned and filled another jerry can before again refusing to pay.

Staff reported the man became verbally abusive when asked to pay.

Patrols attended and arrested a 49-year-old Elizabeth South man who was charged with two counts of theft.

He was granted bail and will attend the Elizabeth Magistrates Court at a later date.
