09 May 2024 6:45am

A speeding drink driver was caught at Edinburgh yesterday.

About 4.30pm Wednesday 9 May police were conducting speed detection duties on Sturton Road when they clocked a Holden Trax travelling at 86km/h in a 50km/h zone.

Police activated their emergency lights and were able to stop the car a short distance away. The driver, a 28-year-old Paralowie woman, was breath tested allegedly returning a positive reading of 0.141. Of even greater concern to police was that a child under 10 was in the car at the time.

The woman was reported for speeding and drinking driving losing her licence on the spot for six months. Her car was impounded for 28 days and she will be summonsed to court at a later date.
