Murray Mallee weekend traffic wrap-up

Murray Mallee police have over the weekend stopped six drivers committing traffic offences.

On Friday 11 April, a 56-year-old man from Sundlands was detected driving on McCoy Street, Waikerie. He was submitted to a roadside drug test which returned a positive result for illicit drugs. The driver was issued a three-month instant loss of licence and may be summoned to court pending forensic analysis.

On Friday 11 April, a 41-year-old man from Nuriootpa was detected driving on Hunter Road, Paisley. The driver was submitted to a driver test which returned a positive result for illicit drugs. The driver was issued a three-month instant loss of licence and may be summoned to court pending forensic analysis.

On Friday 11 April, Berri police reported a 55-year-old man from Renmark for driving whilst disqualified. It will be alleged that he was stopped driving a motor vehicle on Hakea Street, Renmark when checks on his licence revealed that he was suspended from driving. He will be summoned to court at a later date.

On Friday 11 April, Waikerie police reported a 45-year-old woman from Waikerie. It will be alleged that she was stopped driving a vehicle on Smith Drive, Waikerie for the purpose of a mobile random breath test. It will be further alleged that she failed to comply with directions to submit to an alco test. She was issued with a 12-month instant loss of licence. She will be summoned to appear in court at a later date.

On Friday 11, April Renmark police reported a 62-year-old man from Renmark. It will be alleged that he was stopped driving a vehicle on Sturt Highway, Renmark when he returned a positive alco result of 0.190. He was issued with a 12-month immediate loss of licence, had his vehicle impounded for 28 days and he will be summoned to appear in Berri Magistrates Court at a later date.

On Monday 14 April, Waikerie police arrested and charged a 50-year-old man from Murbko. It will be alleged that he was driving along McCoy Street, Waikerie whilst disqualified. He was bailed to appear in the Berri Magistrates Court on 2 June.
