Murray Mallee police have reported four drivers for traffic offences over the weekend.
About 7.40pm on Friday 16 May, Meningie Police have reported a man after he was stopped driving on Kulde Road, Tailem Bend. The man was breath tested and allegedly produced a blood alcohol reading of 0.09. A 35-year-old man from Tailem Bend was reported for drink driving, issued with a six-month instant loss of licence and he will be summonsed to appear in Murray Bridge Magistrates Court at a later date.
About 9.20pm on Friday, Meningie police stopped a Holden sedan on the Princes Highway, Tailem Bend and submitted the driver to a drug test. She allegedly returned a positive result for illicit drugs.
Checks on her licence also revealed that she was disqualified from driving.
A 49-year-old woman from Mount Gambier was reported for driving while disqualified, issued with a three-month instant loss of licence and will be summonsed to Murray Bridge Court at a later date. She may also face drug driving charges following results of a forensic analysis.
The passenger in the vehicle, a 44-year-old man from the south east was arrested for breaching an intervention order, He was refused police bail and will appear in court later today.
Waikerie police reported a 36-year-old man from the mid north after he was stopped driving on the Goyder Highway, Morgan about 8.30pm on Saturday 17 May. The man allegedly produced a blood alcohol reading of 0.058. He was reported for drink driving and will be summonsed to appear in the Berri Magistrates Court at a later date.
A 60-year-old man from Morgan was reported for drink driving after being stopped on Seventh Street, Morgan just after 7.30pm on Sunday 18 May. The man was breath tested and allegedly produced a blood alcohol reading of 0.125. Checks on the man’s licence showed that he was disqualified from driving. He was issued with a six-month instant loss of licence, his vehicle was impounded for 28 days, and he will be summonsed to appear in Berri Magistrates Court at a later date.
