Body of missing person Michael found

On Tuesday 7 July, police attended an area in the Mount Crawford Forrest near Chain of Ponds after information was received via Crime Stoppers that a mountain bike and helmet had been located.

A subsequent search in the area by members of Missing Person Investigation Section with Major Crime Investigation Branch located human remains.

Investigators have now confirmed that the deceased is Michael Curnow, aged 23, who was reported missing on 24 April 2025.

There are no suspicious circumstance relating to Michael’s death and a report is now being prepared for the Coroner.
