Police investigate incident at Port Macdonnell

South Australia Police are responding to an incident at Port Macdonnell.

At about 11.15 this morning (27 July) emergency services were called to an area of coastline west of Port Macdonnell after a vehicle was located with its engine running.  During subsequent enquiries, police tragically located two bodies in the ocean. The body of a woman and a toddler have been recovered.

The woman has been identified as a 36-year-old from Compton and the toddler is her child.

Searches are continuing for a second infant who remains missing and police have grave concerns for the child's safety.

Detectives from Major Crime Investigation Branch and specialist officers from Forensic Response Section are travelling to the scene.

Anyone who may have seen a 2015 White Isuzu MUX, SA Registration S592BJR believed to have belonged to the woman is encouraged to contact Crime Stoppers online at www.crimestopperssa.com.au or on 1800 333 000.
