Limestone Coast traffic offences detected

Limestone Coast Police detected the following traffic offences over the weekend.

About 10.20am on Friday 16 May, police stopped a 30-year-old Southend man on Park Terrace, Millicent.  The driver tested positive to methamphetamine and will be issued with a fine and three-month loss of licence.

At 5.30 pm on Friday, a 32-year-old Naracoorte woman tested positive to cannabis while driving on Schinkel Road, Naracoorte.  Also of concern to police, she had two young children in the car with her at the time.  She will be fined and issued with a three-month instant loss of licence.

About 4pm on Saturday, police stopped a motorcycle on Cannawigara Road, Bordertown after observing the rider’s dog was seated in front of him on the motorcycle seat.  The rider, a 46-year-old Bordertown man, also tested positive to cannabis and police checks revealed he does not hold a motorcycle licence.  He was issued with an expiation for drug driving and reported for riding unlicensed.  The dog was not charged with any offences.

Just before 11.30pm on Saturday, a 55-year-old Allendale East man recorded a blood alcohol reading of 0.154 when pulled over on the Riddoch Highway at Mount Schank.  He was issued with a 12-month instant loss of licence and reported for drink driving.  His vehicle was impounded for 28 days and he will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.

About 11.40am on Sunday, police stopped a 22-year-old Naracoorte man while driving on Sandstone Avenue, Naracoorte.  He tested positive to cannabis and will be issued with an expiation notice.
