Driver loses licence at Kingscote

A man has lost his licence after he was caught speeding and drink-driving on Kangaroo Island.

Just after 8pm on Wednesday 8 July, police were conducting speed detection duties on the Playford Highway at Kingscote when they recorded a Toyota utility travelling at 96km/h in an 80km/h zone.

The driver, a 35-year-old local man underwent a breath test and returned a positive reading of 0.086.

He was reported for drink-driving and issued a fine for exceeding the speed limit, along with a six-month immediate loss of licence notice.

He will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.
