Update: Fatal crash at Barmera

Police are investigating a fatal crash ay Barmera overnight.

About 7.30pm on Monday 15 April, police were called to the Goyder Highway, about 2km’s east of Morgan Road, after a Toyota Camry that had been travelling east and a Toyota Hiace van that had been travelling west collided head on, causing the Hiace to roll.

The driver of the Toyota, a 94-year-old Barmera man, sadly died at the scene.

The driver of the van, a 29-year-old Berri man, was thankfully not injured. The five passengers in the Hiace received non-life threatening injuries and were all taken to hospital.

The Goyder Highway, between the Sturt Highway and Morgan Road, was closed for several hours, but will be reopened in the next 10 minutes.

Major Crash Investigators attended the scene last night and will continue their investigations today into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
